Week of November 13-18
QUIET ZONE CHANGES
A copy machine, print station and 3 reader/printers have now been relocated to the former Literacy Office. Two of the framed photographs previously outside in the main area are dressing up the room. These were moved to make wall space for the relocation of the large painting that was formerly seen on the back wall of the Quiet Zone. The space has now been created for the new shelving that will be installed on the second floor starting Monday morning, November 20th.
NOISE ALERT!!!!
Shelving will begin to be moved on Monday, November 20th, and may continue through Tuesday, November 21st. There will be a relocation of 1st floor wooden units to the former History Room, with additional shelving going into Adult Services to replace some of the metal shelving being moved into the Quiet Zone. Additionally, one of the wooden shelving ranges in the Children's Room will be moved near the elevator. Most of the first floor noise will be before public hours, but there will still be noise audible as shelving is set up on the second floor, particularly when bolting units to the floor or wall.
Signs will be posted to warn patrons of noise and caution tape will section off areas being worked on. Staff may need to apologize to patrons who may complain about the activity, but please tell them that it is a function of making great improvements to the library.
REMINDERS
The media collections, both juvenile and adult, are all located in the same area.
The Adult magazine back issues not shelved beneath the binders of the new issues must be retrieved from the basement. Holdings have changed and the listings are being updated. Young Adult back issues are also in need of retrieval from the basement.
The Professional Collection has been taped yellow to indicate that it is located in the basement. However, the computer does not say Closed Stacks.
Adult nonfiction into the 320's has been relocated to the second floor, as is most of the Reference.
COMING SOON
Once new shelving is installed in the former History Room and in the Quiet Zone, then the relocation of all adult fiction and the rest of the nonfiction will resume. These relocations will begin in earest beginning November 27th.
