JULY 10-17

COLOR COMING
You may smell the new paint that is going on the walls starting this week.
SIGNING THE SPACE
Sharon Nicola, Kathy Pezzetti and Carol Stone met with Bob Mahlebasihian, Architect, and Bob Loza of Cyrano Creative to review the draft signage plan. Place names will go on soffits/walls for the Tween Room and Computer Lab. Blade signs hanging out from columns will also provide space names. Shelf top signs will identify collection areas – Biography, Media, Fiction. End range signs will identify call numbers and subject areas of collections. Check out the draft drawings hanging on the wall in the Board Conference Room.

EXTERIOR PHASE
A Bid Package for a new ADA entrance/parking lot and refurbished entrance/exterior is “out on the street”. Today, 7 general contractors attended an on site job walk. Bids are due for this next phase of construction on July 19. The construction is expected to begin in August and is scheduled not to exceed 90 days. The dedication of the exterior and the Mary Toepelt Nicolai children’s room is tentatively planned for November.

LET THERE BE LIGHT?
The exterior corner windows have been installed. Before the “wall” comes down on the second floor, the contractor has to create a “tie in” to the ceiling and find replacement ceiling tiles. Then a partial wall will be demolished to open up access to the fiction and some seating will be shifted into the new light filled corner.
